"BYOB - Bring Your Own Beamer at AIT"
Saturday, February 22, 7pm-10pm *Open mic from 20:00
*Free entry *No reservations required.
In conjunction with the “6th Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions”, AIT will host an one night event, “BYOB-Bring Your Own Beamer @ AIT”, this Saturday February 22 from 7pm to 10pm.
An experimental one night event initiated by a former AIT artist in residence, Rafael Rozendaal (Netherlands), BYOB invites creators to bring their video works and freely project them in the event space.
For this event, filmmakers, video artists and VJs will present their works, projecting them onto the walls, windows, ceiling and other surfaces within the AIT room. An open mic session will be held from 8pm, and casual interviews with various participating artists will also take place.
Visitors are welcome to visit throughout the evening and experience the projected works in any way they like.

Bring Your Own Beamer CPH – February 21, 2014
You are invited to join us in mounting a new version of the international phenomenon BYOB - a series of one-night-exhibitions around the world. The idea is simple: Find a place, invite many artists, and ask them to bring their own projectors.
BYOB is a way of making a zero budget show, a celebration of the projected image and a collaborative DIY experience. BYOB is an idea by Rafaël Rozendaal - organized in Copenhagen by FOKUS videokunstfestival, FROST and Statens Museum for Kunst (SMK) in collaboration with Marie Dufresne & Kristoffer Ørum.
On February 21st from 19 until 23 we will pack as many artists as we can round up into the space of Tøjhusmuseet (The Museum of Armory) in Copenhagen - each of them wielding their own projector. Each artist can project whatever they want, wherever they want, on what ever is in the space at the time.
The simple terms and guidelines:
• RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org by February 19th in order to secure a spot.
• Open to anyone – Spread the word
• Bring your own beamer/video projector, video playback device and extension cord.
• Headphones are a good idea for optimal sound quality.
• We provide power sockets and some extension cables
• Find your own spot on the day
• Plug and play
• Places allocated on a first come, first served basis
• Participants are welcome to set up at the museum from 4pm.
• About 150 works from SMK’s collection are available for remix and play under a Creative Commons license. You are free to download and use them here: http://www.smk.dk/copyright/creative-commons
• FROST & FOKUS wil have a bar and dj going all night (and offer a couple of free beers for all participants)
We will have a limited amount of projectors that can be booked on the night, these will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
To get an idea of the general set up, see the images of previous versions of BYOB at www.byobworldwide.com.
And check out the location at Tøjhusmuseet, Tøjhusgade 3 - http://www.thm.dk/
FROST will hold two concerts with The Mountains during the evening at the adjacent Chr IV’s Brewery and about 240 concert goers will enter through Tøjhusmuseet to experience our BYOB and make use of the bar. These concerts require tickets, but BYOB is free and open to all throughout the evening!
The evening is supported by Wondercool.

BYOB, or Bring Your Own Beamer is a one-night exhibition inviting different artists from around the country to transform Edinburgh College of Art’s Sculpture Court into a dynamic and enveloping multi-sensory spectacle of moving image, digital art, performance art, sound art and music. BYOB is a commentary on the modern world which often generates overwhelming situations in which one is surrounded by a multiplicity of undulating, fluctuating, pulsating, digitised visuals and information.
The exhibition format has been enacted by Rafaël Rozendaal and has been created worldwide since 2010.
