BYOB Utrecht

May 19th, Cbku, Plompetorengracht 4.
For one night SETUP will take over the Utrecht Center for Fine Arts and turn the walls of the space into a hit ‘n run open exhibition
The concept is as simple as it is effective. 1 night, 1 empty space, and a lot of beamers transform the white walls of the art space into a dynamic new kind of exposition. No months of preparations and no static pieces that stay in the same place for three months. Just one night of awesome work, some tunes and drinks.

BYOB Eindhoven

Thursday 5 May
Starting 8pm, entrance is free
BYOB, Bring Your Own Beamer is an open-source one-nightexhibition, invented by the Dutch media-artist and Neenstar Rafaël Rozendaal. For a BYOB evening artists are invited to bring their own “beamers” to explore the medium of projection. After the first BYOB took place in Berlin last year, the concept turns out to be a big hit and there have been lots of BYOB-evenings in many cities in Europe and the USA. MU hosts one of the first ones in the Netherlands. Do you want to participate? Mail us at muandmore@mu.nl
Participants (so far): Superoboturbo, Maarten van de Glas, Mathijs Diederiks, Maarten Rots, Michel Keppel, Viez Juweel, Ate M Hes, Niels Post, HeyNiek, Jasper Elings, Daan Wampers, Sandy Claes, Billy Rennekamp en Yoeri Guepin.

BYOB DENVER May 17th

gif by Sterling Crispin
We are pleased to announce the Denver instance of the international exhibition series Bring Your Own Beamer. The premise of BYOB is to ask local media based artists to bring their own projectors to a physical location in order to showcase recent work. BYOB has already taken place in over a dozen cities worldwide, involving artists of an extended and dispersed networked community.
Originally conceived by Berlin-based artist Rafael Rozendaal, BYOB Devner (organized by Sterling Crispin, Nicholas O’Brien, and Mario Zoots) will bring together 20+ Denver-based artists to create a collaborative happening of moving light and sound. Various interpretations of the initial idea of BYOB have spawned several different approaches that include ad hoc installations, performances, and other immersive environments of DIY spontaneity and experimentation.
BYOB Denver will be hosted by RedLine, a non-profit gallery located at 2350 Arapahoe Street on May 17th starting at 7pm.
Participating artists include:
Christina Battle, Frankie Brack, Max Bernstein + Tonja van Helden, Brandon Bultman, Sterling Crispin, Milton Melvin Croissant III, Chris Coleman, Katrin Davis, Jeromie Dorrance, Travis Egedy, Tobias Fike, David Fodel, Phillip Faulkner, Adan De La Garza, Matthew B. Jenkins, Brian Leister, Laleh Mehran, Dmitri Obergfell, Nicholas O’Brien, Zach Reini, Michael Schonebaum, Rick Silva, Tyler Snow, Joel Swanson, Shawn Taylor, Oliver Lee Terry, Mario Zoots, and more!
