BYOB (Bring Your Own Beamer) is a one-night exhibition of free form projected artworks. Together with the opening of the International Breakdance Event 2012 in Heerlen, international new dance media artists, photographers and visual artists present their videos referring to dance and movement on the six floors high facade of the multidisciplinary institute SCHUNCK*.
Curated by SCHUNCK*, twenty projectors were involved to create a collage of moving images on the outdoor public setting, in order to close the IBE New Dance Media Conference and to open the IBE exhibition: Cypher Visuals. A visual program, presented by SCHUNCK* and The Notorious IBE, that uses photography, film and painting derived from graffiti to build a bridge between hip hop and contemporary art, international urban culture and Heerlen respectively the Parkstad.
Participating artists include: Shueti/NL, Esmé Valk/NL, Helsinki Freezing/FN, Job Pereboom/NL, YAK Films/USA, Edith Eussen/NL, David Douven/NL, Robert Kaltenhäuser/DE, Daniel van Hauten/DE, Leonid Babiichouk/NL, contribution of various short dance movies thanks to CINEDANS Dance on Screen/NL and IBE New Dance Media Conference/NL, selection of images by photographers such as Joe Conzo/USA
